These are some of my favourite things!

emphasis on "SOME"

The Truman Show is one of my favourite films, as are Witness, Philadelphia, Shakespeare in Love, Plunkett and Macleane, and The Full Monty. I really liked The Birdcage with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. All the Mad Max films, the Batman ones with Michael Keaton, and also Raiders of the Lost Ark. Heck, anything by Stephen Spielberg.

Kate and Leopold, Snatch, and Rat Race were good, too.

You can access a LOT of information on television shows, films, music, actors, musicians, directors, etc. at the Internet Movie Database.

I really like comedy, such as Mel Brooks films, Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams, Sinbad, Jim Carrey, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Graham Norton, the Simpsons, and Malcolm in the Middle. Carol Burnett is a comedy genius. I like the classics, such as Little Rascals (the updated film version was good, too), Red Skelton, and the Marx Brothers. Red Dwarf. Only Fools and Horses. Fawlty Towers. Black Adder. Give My Head Peace, Will and Grace. Jon Stewart. MST-3K is excellent.

I am a Sci-Fi geek, but that isn't to say that just because it's sci-fi I like it. Example: I can't stand Mutant-X. I think it is badly written and the acting is horrible.

Actors and Actresses: Hugh Jackman (ABSOLUTELY the only reason I watched more than five minutes of Swordfish), Gererd Butler, Ewan MacGregor, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Sam Neill, Ian McKellan, Tom Hanks, Kevin Kline, Anthony Stewart Head. Susan Sarandon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sandra Bullock.

My favourite Shakespeare play is Hamlet, but if I were to choose my favourite film adaptation of one of his plays it would be either Much Ado About Nothing or A Midsummer Night's Dream. Mel Gibson did a good job with Hamlet, though.

My favourite novel is Red Sky at Morning, cos I really loved it as a child and now it is sort of a security blanket for me.

Speaking of security blankets, when I get a bit down I like to watch Jumpin' Jack Flash, Dream Team, and Three Fugitives. They're sort of my 'comedy security blankets.'

Poets? I like Carl Sandburg, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Rod McKuen, Maya Angelou, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Wordsworth, John Keats, William Butler Yeats, Seamus Heaney, William Blake.

Favourite short story: The Dead from James Joyce's Dubliners. Authors include: D. H. Lawrence, Alexander Pushkin, Leo Tolstory, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Edgar Allan Poe.

Playwrights: Anton Chekhov, Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, Tennessee Williams, George Bernard Shaw, Moliere, Aristophanes.

Authors: William Faulkner, Petronius, Miguel de Cervantes, P.D. James, Robert Asprin.

Who do I not care for? William Carlos Williams, and gee whiz, that Jonathon Edwards gave me a few sleepless nights.  Michael Wigglesworth wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs, either. I don't care for comedians who feel they have to resort to vulgarity to get laughs.
