Personal narrative:
Write about an incident
when you changed in some major way or learned something important
about yourself. Be sure to let the reader know what you were like both
before and after the incident.
Process:
Explain to a stranger
how to get from the university campus to your home. Be sure to include
information about landmarks as well as directions for driving or walking.
Argument:

Take a stand on an issue
of interest to you. Your topic can involve a national, state, or local
issue. Support your position with evidence and examples, and try to show
why your opposition is wrong.
Evaluation:

Write a review of a
book or movie you have read or seen recently or a television show you watch
regularly. Provide
examples from the book, movie, or show to support your judgment.
